1958 Porsche 356 Cabriolet Restoration
In December of 2003 we bought a 1958 Porsche 356A Cabriolet found in the Texas Hill Country. Follow along as we attempt to restore her to the original beauty of her glory days. Our attempt is not for a concourse car but rather a respectable weekend driver.

Annie to Storage
It's a sad day in the Richards house (er, garage). With Dad's help, we delivered Annie to a long term auto storage. She has a nice new home sitting next to another classic German in the form of a '65 Mercedes SL and the Italian Ferraris are just across the aisle.

Relocating to Asia
This will be my last post for some time. In the coming months my family and I will be relocating to Singapore for a work assignment. Annie will go into professional storage at an undisclosed location. Thanks for the offers to strore her but I must insist she goes to professional storage. Keep your emails coming and I'll answer them all best I can.

Just Loving Life
It's been some time since I last posted. The photo should tell you where most of my time has gone - to our beautiful baby Madeleine. If my time is not taken up by her, my job has had me overseas more than I care for. We are down to the expensive shiny parts so Annie doesn't get as much attention as she deserves.
No, the car is not for sale so you can stop asking. My daughter can decide what to do with it after I'm dead and gone.

Carpet Installation
We purchased a carpet installation kit from Autobahn Interiors of San Diego, CA. After speaking with a couple other 356ers who had installed their kit and further conversations with Tony, I was convinced of their quality. We went with an oatmeal German sqareweave with tan binding.
The kit was well cut and we had plenty of excess material for custom fitting. Tony was very helpful during the installation and was quick to answer any questions we might have had. We found that we had a missing piece and Tony was quick to send the replacement with no trouble. I would highly recommend this company should you want to install your own carpet.
Not too many tricks to suggest. Read the registry tech references and you will be ready to do it yourself. This is a 2-man project so be sure to have a good helper as I did.
